Flea Market @ The Curve

Last saturday, I went to the flea market at The Curve to get myself some accesories to match with my cheong sam before going to Kang's birthday. That will be my first time to actually walk around the flea market stall by stall. To my surprise, there's alot of accesories selling at very reasonable price. For eg. 3 pairs of earrings can be get with just RM1o! Those are the fixed price items but you can have a good bargain in getting other stuffs where price tag was not shown. I just can't escape but to spend money when cheap deals are all over the flea market. Sigh, my plan to not spend so much is always a failure one.

I met my secondary classmate there who was helping out his sis. Have not met him since we've graduated from secondary school. Took some snapshots with him and was able to take snapshot of the stalls with his help as the management there does not allow photo shooting unless you're a reporter.

Flea Market are mushrooming and has become part of the city culture in Klang Valley. Almost every shopping complex and residential area in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam has one.

Venue: Hotel Mandarin Oriental, K.L.
Date: 18 August 2006
Time: 7.oo pm til late night
*ALERT* The organisers shall not be responsible for reckless rock star behaviour, guitar-smashing violence and excessive glam-rock make-up.

*~ The opening dance~*

Last friday while i was taking my afternoon nap before the yoga session as usual, my sis called up and told me to get myself prepared to attend this party. Her boss had booked a table for this event but some of the colleagues can't turn up so i was invited!

The event supposed to start at 7 pm but we reached there around 8pm as the traffic entering the hotel car park was terrible, the car park was fulled. We have to park at KLCC located beside the hotel and walked there. After registering ourselves at the guest registration counter and redeemed our door gifts which included a head scarf and a pair of sunglasses each, we headed to our table. We were lucky enough to see the opening dance as the event has been delayed due to the earlier mentioned situation.

People attending the party dressed up in rock which perfectly matched the theme of the ball. I was not dare enough to take some snapshots of those wanna-be rockers so i can't show you peeps their costume. What a waste!

Not going to blog in details and upload snapshots taken here as i've uploaded them in my multiply account. It's much more convenient there. So visit my multiply for complete set of snapshots. Thanks peeps..you can get my multiply site's link at the side bar. Sorry to say that only my contacts are allowed to view the full contents. For the sake of my friends and mine privacy. No worries as i'll still open majority of the entries to everyone. *Cheers*

What is Love?

Love is patient,Love is kind.
It does not envy,it does not boast,
It is not proud. It is not rude,
It is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered,
It keeps no records of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,always trusts,
Always hopes,always perseveres.
Love never fails.

When I was a child, I talked like a child,
I thought like a child, I respond like a child.
When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in mirror, then we shall see face to face.
Now i know in part; then i shall know fully,
Even as i am fully known.
And know these three remains: Faith, Hope and Love.
But the greatest of these is Love.
Adapted from : 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a
If you peeps were to notice, the first part of the phrase can be found in my friendster profile. I've been putting it there for years but guess not everyone noticed it. I first came across this during a wedding ceremony of a relative of mine, which is also the first time i've ever attended a wedding ceremony in a church. I simply love this phrase so i started to look for it. It's actually a chapter found in the bible, but sadly i can only found the first part of it.
Recently, fatty was back in KL for her 2 weeks holidays and she had borrow a vcd from her friend with the title : A Walk to Remember. I desperately wanted to watch it back in the time the movie was shown in the cinema but guess the one i'm asking to is not intested in those sappy love story. So the only thing i can do is to download the songs in the OST. The songs sooth my soul and the one i love very much was "Only Hope" by Mandy Moore. In the movie, this scripture was being read during their wedding ceremony and it's very touching as the bride was seriously sick yet the groom still wanted to marry her.
After watching the movie, the urge to complete the chapter started to grow in me and i've ask for the help of my cousemate who is a christian. Thanks Jonathan for helping me to complete the chapter. It definately feels great to complete it.
I would like to make myself clear here, i'm not a christian myself. Thou i like to listen to christian bands alot and also the phrase I put in my friendster had made some of them misunderstand.

Food Section Part 2: Korean BBQ

The main course: Korean BBQ. You get to choose between pork or beef and there's prawns and cuttlefish. The secret behind that made the food taste good even without marinating them is that they used charcoal replacing the sizzling pan generated by electric. It's absolutely burdenless to your body cause it's not oily at all! So gals on diet can eat as much as you can :p
Korean pancake! My favorite dishes of all. A must-try dish peeps! Rated it a 5 stars! I think i can finish up the whole pancake if nobody would ever stop me.
The Ginseng Chicken Soup: Ingredients included a whole chicken, red dates, some chilies, glutinous rice, etc. This is my first time trying a soup with glutinous rice! Surprisingly it tastes good and match with the soup. Peeps have to give it a try. Rated it a 4 stars out of 5.
There's not much difference between the korean and japanese sushi. The sushi here is affordable i would say cause there's around 12 pieces but selling at 8 bucks! Just a simple calculation, you can't get the price even purchasing them at the supermarket.
Bi Bim Bap: To all korean series fanatic, this is the dish having the highest rate of appearance in all the series. For eg. Full House and KimSamSun. I would recommend guys and those who can't live without rice to order this cause there's no white rice provided in all the BBQ packages. It's in very big portion so gals might have to share it else can't finish it.

A tip for you peeps before entering to those korean BBQ restaurants : Loaded yourself with enough of cash cause all the transactions made are in cash term, no credit cards accepted no matter you're a Master, Visa or even AE card holders.

Food Section Part 1:Korean BBQ

This is my first time blogging bout food~! But i think the photos can speak better than my words. I went to the same korean BBQ restaurant located at Ampang a.k.a the Korean Village for two consequetive weekends but with different people of course. The first time was there with Sab, Jessie and U Wern and last sunday with my family. For your info, korean village is a place where most of the koreans in KL reside so such name is given, thou it's not actually a village. Few rows of shop lots where lots of korean restaurants, convenience stores can be found there.
That particular restaurant i went was EHwa Garden which was recommended by a friend, which he think is more affordable yet the food is tasty cause the price range for korean food will easily cost up to few hundreds even there's only a few people. Let's see, a korean BBQ set for 2 will cost you up to RM 150. In the 1st snapshot, those are the side dishes for a 4 pax set.

Here's the price for the BBQ sets, so sorry that i've forgotten to take the side of the menu which is for 2-4 pax :p. It's very considerate of them to put the menu in both mandarin and english. You should look at the ala carte menu, haha cause there's korean words which we can't understand at all, can only make a wild guess to figure out the food or ask for the assistance of the waitress there. BUT don't expect them to speak fluent english and understand you well, you should watch more korean series as for my advice. LOL.

Typical korean utensils you can see in all the korean series. :p Get so excited to see and touch them. Am i in korea now?? Wish i could.

p/s: Hey guys and gals please bear with me cause the server is at scheduled outage, no photos can be uploaded for the time being. More snapshots and details will be updated a.s.ap. Am currently in lazy mode to blog, there's so much interesting happenings to blog about but i seemed so stressed out lately. Gosh, will need to pull myself back on track!

Organizational Development Presentation 28.7.06

Our group had been assigned to present our case study on the 28th of July which is also the last presentation for this semester. As i've mentioned earlier in my blog about the EC presentation, we are going to come out with something special that is able to capture all the attention. After some brainstorming session among the group members, we decided to do a role playing instead of answering the case study questions one by one like what other groups are doing. Our case study's title: The Paradoxical Twins : Acme & Omega.

There's 5 persons in our group and so lucky of us that we are able to arrange each of us with a role; the narrator, an OD practitioner, Omega's president, Acme's president and Photocopy manufacturer. We even made ourself a name card to put on during the presentation so our tutor and classmates won't get confused. Night before, we gathered in Bs and Js's condo to run through our scripts so that everything is well organized and everyone knows the flow of the presentation. We stayed up whole night for the preparation while Mc was doing the presentation slide as usual.

We managed to get some sleep and woke up around 5am to practise and do some ammendments to the scripts. Then each of us took turn to dress up in our formal attire and went to our campus. We actually recorded down the whole presentation with a digital camera set on a tripod. Everthing was in control and smooth, and we've got a very good comment from our tutor, she was impressed with our effort and guarantee us with a good grade! Instead, she said our group was the best among all the groups~
